La Chapinière
Touraine
Vintage 2022

Christophe BAUDRY and Jean-Martin DUTOUR are writing a new chapter in their story by establishing themselves in the heart of Touraine. Their exploration leads them to the Val de Cher where they (re)discover the cultivation of Côt, the local name for a red grape variety better known as “Malbec”. In the climate of the Loire, this grape variety expresses its violet and blackcurrant aromas with freshness, rounded out by blending with Cabernet Franc.

EXPERIENCE RANGE

Christophe BAUDRY and Jean-Martin DUTOUR are writing a new chapter in their story by establishing themselves in the heart of Touraine. Their exploration of the terroirs dedicated to SAUVIGNON BLANC naturally led them to the Val de Cher where the expression of this grape variety is one of the most renowned.

CUVÉE STORY

After a mild and wet winter, the vine budburst was among the earliest. With a sunny spring, frosts spared the vineyard, which continued its early development . The summer drought concentrated the grapes, producing small but healthy and rich bunches. The life-saving rains at the end of August prevented ripening blockages, ensuring a harvest in optimal conditions. Ultimately, an early vintage with exceptional ripeness and quality.

TASTING

Expressive nose of violet and blackcurrant. The fruit and flower aromas unfold on the palate after a smooth and rounded attack. A juicy and drinkable wine.

FOOD & WINE PAIRING

Perfect for enjoying with a charcuterie board as aperitif, it will also pair well with a sausage rougail, duck breast with red fruits, tuna steak, or a sweet and savory salad.
