While Christophe BAUDRY & Jean-Martin DUTOUR are well-known in Chinon and deeply involved in the local wine community, they ventured eastward in 2020 into the Val de Cher. After months of exploration, they acquired several parcels of land near Noyers-sur-Cher to create a vineyard dedicated to the flagship grape of the region: SAUVIGNON BLANC.
They took over Florence VEILEX’s vineyard, continuing her environmental commitments by adopting the Organic Agriculture specifications and complementing the Domaine’s plots with terroirs from the right bank of the Cher River.
As a productive and demanding grape, Sauvignon Blanc requires a great terroir to unveil its complexity. Grown in the Val de Cher on soils called “perruches” (flinty clay) and “aubuis” (clay-limestone soils of the first slopes), it expresses a full spectrum of aromas: crisp apple, boxwood, blackcurrant bud, gunflint, exotic fruits, white flowers, lychee…
