Château de la Grille - Domaines Baudry Dutour
Famous for its iconic bottle, Château de La Grille truly shines in showcasing the essence of Cabernet Franc, the emblematic grape of the Loire Valley. The Domaine’s red wine, produced from old vines, remains the flagship cuvée. It is complemented by a limited production of a delicate Chinon rosé and a confidential cuvée of fine Cabernet Franc sparkling wine for the greatest wine lovers’ pleasure.
The original terroir of CHINON. Located on one of the typical limestone spurs of the Chinon region, with an East to South orientation, the vineyard produces only small yields each year but always reaches optimal ripeness. It has a long and meticulous aging process, during which oak and fine tannins combine to reveal the wine deepness. Oak melds with the wine’s fine tannins, elevates its character. Both the white and red wines benefit from a few years of aging in our cellars/cellaring.
The Domaine du Roncée vineyard covers 64 hectares, mainly on the clay-siliceous gravel soils of the ancient terraces of the Vienne river. This terroir gives the wines their fruity expression, coupled with a structure whose depth is fully revealed with the old vines. The Clos des Marronniers wine is the best example.
Domaine de la Perrière
Since 1778, the Baudry family has managed the vineyard of Domaine de la Perrière. Located in Cravant les Coteaux, a village in the heart of the Chinon appellation, the history of the Domaine is mixed with family history; generations follow one another, each wishing to preserve the traditions from their ancestors while developing the vineyard to leave their personal mark.
On the right bank of the Loire, the hills of Ingrandes-de-Touraine provide an ideal exposure for Cabernet Franc. On the clay-limestone hillsides, with their brown or golden hues depending on the limestone’s origin, the grapes’ ripening point varies. This enables us to craft Bourgueil wines that combine power and finesse.
Sauvignon is one of the oldest French grape varieties. Harvested at La Chapinière in the Val de Cher, on « perruches » (flint clay) and « aubuis » (clay-limestone soils on the lower slopes), it offers the full spectrum of its aromatic palette : sour apples, blackcurrant buds, exotic fruits, white flowers…

Our Values

“We strive to enhance what nature offers us—the sun, the water, and the soils  from the finest terroirs. While respecting the practices of the appellations and traditional grape varieties, modern techniques permit their full structure and complexity to be revealed, and preserved in a bottle so they can travel to the tables of enthusiasts.”

Who Are We ?

The story of BAUDRY & DUTOUR began with a meeting dating back to 1993, when Christophe BAUDRY, owner of Domaine de La Perrière in Cravant-les-Côteaux and whose family had been winegrowers for generations met Jean-Martin DUTOUR, a recent graduate who had come to the Chinon region to take over Domaine du Roncée in Panzoult. Quickly, the two winemakers became friends, pooling their tools, experiences and talents. From their synergy, BAUDRY & DUTOUR was established in 2003.
